What if I’ve never had therapy before?
That’s completely okay, many of my clients are new to therapy. I’ll go at your pace and answer any questions along the way.
What happens in the first session?
The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s brought you to therapy and what you’d like to work on, you can ask any questions, and there’s no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with.
How long is each session?
Sessions are 60 minutes long and typically take place weekly, although this can be adjusted depending on your needs.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies from person to person. Some people benefit from just a few sessions, while others find longer-term therapy more helpful, we’ll review things regularly together.
Do you offer online or telephone counselling?
Yes, I offer sessions via Google Meet and telephone. You can choose what feels most comfortable for you, and we can change formats if needed.
Do you offer face-to-face sessions?
Yes I offer face-to-face sessions in my cosy city-centre room located at – Liverpool Therapy Rooms, Suite 2 & 5, 34 Castle Street, Liverpool, England, L2 0NR.
Is what I say in therapy confidential?
Yes, what you share in therapy is confidential. The only exceptions are if there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or others, or if I am legally required to share information (for example, in cases of safeguarding or certain criminal offences). If you talk about self-harm, this doesn’t automatically mean confidentiality will be broken. Many people use self-harm as a way of coping, and we can talk about this safely in therapy. I would only need to share information if I believed your life was at immediate risk or if you were unable to keep yourself safe. I’ll explain this in more detail during our first session, so you understand exactly what to expect.
What types of issues can I talk to you about?
You can bring anything that’s on your mind, from anxiety, low mood, grief, or relationship issues, to feeling stuck or overwhelmed. Therapy is a space where nothing is “too small” to talk about.
How much do sessions cost?
Sessions are priced at £50 for 60 minutes online or over the phone, and £65 for in-person.
How do I book a session?
You can contact me directly to book, alternatively you can book an introductory call through Counselling directory.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?
I ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations with less notice will be charged the full session fee.
Do you offer concessionary rates?
I have a limited number of discounted sessions available for those on a low income, students, and also for block bookings. Please contact me to discuss this.
Are there restrictions on who can access therapy?
You must be over the age of 18 to book with me and be residing in the UK. If you are under the age of 18, permission must be obtained from a parent or guardian.
